The Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit volunteer membership organization. As is true with most organizations, the more you put in, the more you get back. Please check the following list of possible ways to get involved in your Chamber and fill in the handy form provided. Take Action – Start Now! COMMITTEES

HUB Committee
Coordinates all facets of marketing, membership recruitment and retainment, and membership meetings and event planning for the chamber. Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 8:30 am at the Chamber office. Members should have a background or interest in marketing and promoting the FLACC and event planning.

Ambassadors

Governmental Affairs Committee
Serves as a link between local government and the business community. Researches issues and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for possible official support. Issues could be local, state or federal. Members should have a background in governmental affairs.
Meetings are held at 8:00 am on the last Tuesday of the month at the FLACC office.

Finance Committee
Review of monthly financial reports and assist staff in making other financial decisions. Members should have a background in accounting or finance.
Meets monthly on the 2nd Wed.at 8 a.m., Chamber office.

Lakes Area Women in Business Group
This group meets the 3rd Friday of the month at 8:00 am the Hampton Inn & Suites, 579 Apollo Drive, Lino Lakes.  Connect~Empower ~ Educate ~ Grow! The LAWIB Group connects women who want to do business with other business women in the lakes area.  Empower women by discovering the Power or Partnerships with other women.  Educate women by providing learning opportunities directly related to business development through informative and interactive presentations by business experts.  Grow our organization to increase membership which will grow our businesses and also we will grow on a personal level.  Cost to join is $50/year or you can attend meetings for $5 for chamber members or $10 for non-members.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Coffee Chatter- informal gathering of Chamber Members – meets every Friday at the Chamber office at  7:30 am-8:30 am
  • Membership Meeting -four times a year
  • Membership Orientation – Held bi-monthly on the last Friday of the month. For new or current members to find out all the benefits of membership.
  • Annual Meeting - early October. Opportinity for members to receive an overview of the past year and hear the Board’s vision for the upcoming year.
  • Golf Tournament - First Monday in August
  • Business Education Day – late August. Welcomes new teachers and introduces them to area businesses.
  • Home & Business Show - late March. Showcases a variety of businesses and attracts 1500 visitors.
  • Legislative Breakfast – March. Provides an opportunity for members to meet local legislatures.
  • Ambassadors Club – Represents the Chamber in the community.
  • Committees and Task Forces – an opportunity to work side by side with other Chamber members to accomplish Chamber goals and plan Chamber events.
  • Regional Speed Networking – collaboration with other surrounding chamber and business associations – held three times a year.
