The City of Forest Lake is a freestanding growth center located in the seven county metropolitan area in northern Washington County. The northern portion of Washington County is experiencing rapid residential as well as commercial growth. Forest Lake's biggest attraction is the Forest Lake chain of lakes, which has been its biggest asset in the past, in the present and will be long into the future.
